My name is Rita and, without a doubt, I am a librarian (at least on paper). I obtained my degree from McGill University in 2009 after having specialized in Knowledge Management. As such, my areas of interests are scattered and abundant! As an emerging professional, I seek to practice in a wide array of topics: from social networking to tacit knowledge collection, digital libraries and archives to competitive and business intelligence– even web analytics! However, I’ll admit I have a real soft spot for the application of KM and even e-learning in law firms– yum.
Though I expect the themes of this blog to evolve in parallel to my career’s changing orientations, the purpose of this blog is to document all of the considerations, hurdles and ambitions I encounter as I try to define the type of librarian I want to be. I want this blog to illuminate all of the fascinating things that librarians are doing. In doing so, I hope to track how these discoveries shape my interests and touch upon those of others across several disciplines, languages and cultures.
Bonne lecture!
